Greenway Corridor Along Oil Pipeline Tract and Redevelopment of Dispur Supermarket into a Multimodal Transit Hub

The proposal envisages the development of the old Supermarket at Dispur and the adjoining government land with the adjacent Oil pipeline tract into a modern Daily market , rehabilitation housing, medical centre, multilevel parking and sports facilities and connecting them with three key features.

One, an elevated pedestrian walkway connection the three major nearby roads which are within 500 meters. This will transform this place into a major transit hub for public bus traffic and act as a counter magnet to Ganesguri point because of the ease and convenience provided by this feature.

Second, the adjoining Oil Pipeline tract can be converted into a linear park “Greenway” starting from Six Mile up to Lokhra junction, thereby creating a major pedestrian and cycling corridor catering to the entire southern side of the city.

Third, a connection with the proposed Metro junction will transform this place into major multi modal transit hub for the future needs of the city.
